Emergency Closing Information is Important

Announcements about school closings, delayed openings, or early dismissal will be posted on the News Headlines section of the District website home page. They are also broadcast on Twitter, Facebook, and the following stations which you can access by clicking here.

SchoolMessenger communications software allows us to send emails, texts, and make phone calls. (Phone calls will be used for emergency situations only.)
Parent/Guardians and staff will NOT need to sign-up to receive information from schools that you are registered for in Schooltool. (You will have the option to opt-out if you choose not to receive emails, texts, and/or phone calls.)

For more information go to the website and click on Communications Sign-up/School App from the Connect section of the home page.

Are you Receiving All of our Communications? Helpful Tips about the SchoolMessenger Communication System:

  • To be sure that you are receiving all emails sent from the District/schools/teachers please periodically check your spam/junk/promotions folder for emails with @westgenesee.org, then mark that they are not spam/junk/promotions.
  • To be sure that you are receiving text messages this year from WGCSD or your school(s) Text a "Y" or "Yes" to 67587

If you still have questions about receiving emails and/or text from WGCSD please email them to publications@westgenesee.org.

Veterans Day
Everyone will be wearing their RED, WHITE and BLUE as we recognize Veteran's Day on Wednesday, November 10.  Mrs. DeMartini will lead our school during the morning announcements.

Positivity Project:

Bravery
This week's character strength focus is bravery. Bravery means you act with mental, moral, or physical strength even when you know things are difficult or scary. Next Thursday, on Veterans Day, we take the time to celebrate the bravery and sacrifice of all United States veterans. For more information on bravery from the Positivity Project, click here

Around School:

Perfectly Pink
On Thursday, staff donned their pink to raise money for the American Cancer Society.  A total of $279 was collected.

Thank you for Supporting our Stonehedge Turkey Trot:

Our physical education staff worked together with other special area teachers and pulled off a fabulous Turkey Trot. Our students walked a collective total of 883 miles or the equivalent of walking from Stonehedge to Nashville, Tennessee! We were once again humbled by the generosity of our Stonehedge families. Many bins were filled with donated toiletries and food items that will go to families in need right in our own community. Thank you!

First Responders Day
Tuesday's cool weather and the threat of rain tried its hardest to dampen our spirits, but we wouldn't let it!!  The First Responder partners came through in a big way!  Students and staff all had a blast talking to the First Responders. I heard many students report "THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER!" Thank you Officer Skardinski for all of your hard work organizing this event.  Thank you to our First Responders for sharing the day with our Stonehedge students.
