Positivity Project

This week's trait is Being Present and Giving Others my Attention

I hope you will join us in encouraging your child to explore their own positive character strengths and strengths of others.  Next week we will talk about how other people matter and what it means to be present and give others your attention.  You can encourage family conversations and foster positive relationships using some suggestions from this  Positivity Project for Families link!

PARP

October is PARP month (Pick A Reading Partner)!  During PARP month, we would love for your child to read with someone for just 15 minutes every day.  Your child can read to you, grandparents, siblings, neighbors or friends!  They can read in person or ZOOM! The PTA also has some fun activities in store for PARP month!  This week a calendar was sent home along with weekly PARP slips.

Scholastic Book Fair

What goes best with PARP? Why a Book Fair does! It’s time for the Fall Book Fair! The Book Fair runs from Tuesday, October 5th through Thursday, October 7th from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm in the Red Gym.  Please enter through the Main Doors (Door #1). 25% will be taken off your entire purchase!

Reading 20 minutes a day is proven to boost literacy skills.  Book Fairs support a joy for reading and gets books in the hands of our students.  A percentage of each book sold is given back to our school in Scholastic Dollars!

We can’t run a Book Fair without volunteers!  Please email stonehedgepta@westgenesee.org if you are interested in donating a small amount of time!

Talk with the Superintendent

Please join the West Genesee PTA/PTO District Council for a Talk with the Superintendent on October 5, 2021 starting at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. (It was previously scheduled to be held
in person at the high school, but will now be available in this virtual
format.)  Register here.
