Weekend Update for March 5th

have the best day ever

Greetings from Stonehedge!  The sun is shining and 58 degrees is forecasted for next week.  I do love March with later sunsets and warming temperatures.  We have lots of exciting things coming up this month including a Walk for MDA, St. Patrick's Day and Spring Break.  Each week I try to give a shout out to all of you for all you do to make the Stonehedge world go round!  I am always impressed with all we have been able to do this year.  I know there is a lot of questions about the change in social distancing from 6 ft to 3 ft.  We are still working on the details, but expect a family survey and more information coming soon.

In the Near Future:

3/14 - Daylight Savings Time begins! (Set clocks ahead one hour)
3/29 - 4/5 - Spring Break

Important Information:

On Wed. March 17th Stonehedge will  "Walk the Loop" for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).  If your student would like to bring in a donation, we will be sending donations to MDA

Remote Learners Material Pickup:

Material pickup for Remote Learners will be on Thursday, March 18 in the Gold Lobby from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm.  In addition, on 3/18/21, please return the materials listed below

Positivity Project: Social Intelligence
Social intelligence means that you are aware of other people’s thoughts and feelings. You understand why they do things. It refers to a person’s ability to understand and manage interpersonal relationships and is distinct from a person’s IQ or “book smarts.” It includes an individual’s ability to understand, and act on, the feelings, thoughts, and behaviors of other people. This type of intelligence can take place “in the moment” of face-to-face conversations but also appears during times of deliberate thinking. It involves emotional intelligence and self-awareness.

PTA:
The Gertrude Hawk pick up day will be Tuesday, March 16th from 3pm to 7:30pm.  Please come to the back of the school on the GOLD SIDE for a drive-by pickup between 3pm and 7:30pm. If you have any questions please contact Johanna LeFever at jblefever@yahoo.com
Thank you for your support.

Around School:

This week, Mrs. Goodnow's classes invited me to their Monument Museums.  Students researched American symbols such as the White House, Washington Monument, the Liberty Bell, the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, the American Flag and the Bald Eagle. Students did a great job publicly speaking about their symbols and created poster displays.  I am super proud of your hard word--2nd Graders!

In Art classes, Kindergarten students made Leprechaun traps to start celebrating St. Patrick's Day!  Which is GREAT because we can't have any leprechaun's running around school. ;)
