Weekend Update September 18

Our Second Grade Team!

I can't believe we have been back for over a week.  I am truly amazed by what our community has been able to accomplish!  From teachers, to families, to bus drivers, to office staff, to support staff to students... we have created this new, temporary situation and it feels a bit like normal.  I'm amazed that we were able to change and adjust nearly every system in a matter of weeks.   Thank you for your support as you learned a new lunch system, new classroom configurations, and new arrival and dismissal practices.  What a joy to feel the school alive with students and learning.

Virtual Curriculum Night

We appreciate all of the families who Zoomed-in and participated in our Curriculum Night.  If you were unable to attend materials came home with your child today. If you still have any questions about curriculum or the structure of our school day, feel free to contact me or your child’s teacher any time.

Transportation

WE are really MOVING with student pick-up. THANK YOU for your patience, support and understanding!  You have been amazing as we adjusted and changed doors and staggered times.  We couldn't have done it without you.  Generally, car tag # 1-75 should arrive at 2:30, # 76-150 arrive at 2:40, # 150+ should arrive at 2:50.

Remote Learners

Remote learners started school this week.  I miss seeing you in school, but I know you are working hard. I was able to zoom in with Mrs. Mannion's 2nd graders today.  What a treat! We appreciate those families who came to pick up materials.  If you still need materials or you need different materials, please call the STB main office at 315-487-4633.

Positivity Project

This week we kicked off the Positivity Project with the Other People Mindset. This mindset consists of the five elements intended to help people understand ways to build positive relationships in their own lives: identifying and appreciating the good in others, knowing my words and actions affect others, supporting others when they struggle, cheering others' success, and being present and giving others my attention.

Next week, we will focus on CURIOSITY. Curiosity is an important component of one's character. It is our urge to discover and explore. It’s what pushes us to try new activities or travel to different places.
Curiosity is associated with novelty seeking. Novelty-seekers are more willing to endure risks – such as physical risks of skydiving or social risks of meeting new people.  Curiosity is associated with being open to exploring new ideas, feelings, or values.  #PositivityInAction
