Special Year-End Events for 4th Graders
To celebrate the transition from one school to the next, we have a few special events planned for our 4th graders:
- June 13 & 14 - 4th graders walk the Camillus Splash Pad (teachers will send home details as to which    date their class is going).
- June 21 - 4th Grade Celebration/Picnic.  The brief celebration will be at 11 am.  Parents are welcome to join us outside on the blue playground.

Spring Emergency Drills
We will be carrying out our emergency drills over the next few weeks (evacuation and lockdown drills).  Please do not be alerted if your child comes home talking about them. These need to occur twice a year (Fall and Spring).

Summer Reading
Summer is a crucial time and students can lose up to three months of reading gains during the summer.  Please help and encourage your child to read this summer.  Some tips to help your child with their summer reading:
1.  Make sure they have access to books.  It is critical that kids have access to a wide variety of books over the summer months.
2.  Books that match readers’ ability levels and interests.  For young people’s reading skills to improve, they need to read books that align with their own reading levels.
 3.  Comprehension, as monitored and guided by an adult, teacher, or parent.

The most important piece to making summer reading effective is the help of an adult who can ask questions and guide kids to better understand what they are reading.  With these three ingredients, your summer reading program will soar!

Look from the "Oceans of Possibilities" summer reading newsletter that went home this week.

The Stonehedge Library will be open 10:00 am - 12:00 pm every Tuesday starting July 12 through August 16.

Kindergarten Screening Information
If you have registered your student for kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year, you will receive a letter at the end of next week to remind you of your screening date and time.  All kindergarten screening for Stonehedge students will be done this year at Stonehedge. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Stonehedge Main Office at 315-487-4633.

2022 Senior Walk
Graduating seniors from the Class of 2022 who attended Stonehedge returned to our school one last time before graduation. The seniors walked the hallways as students and teachers applauded and held up signs. Teachers and staff agreed it was a good thing the seniors had nametags on as they have changed so much!  Con"grad"ulations class of 2022!

Mrs. Carrington's current 2nd Graders held signs with the names of her former 2nd Graders who are now graduating.
