Update October 9th

Half Day October 16th

Students will be dismissed starting at 11:15 on Friday, October 16th for a Superintendent's Professional Development day.

Fall Frenzy Coming Soon...

What is Pick a Reading Partner (PARP)?

Learning to read is the single most important activity in a child’s education. Studies show that children who read at home are better prepared to succeed in formal education.

October is PARP month at Stonehedge.  PARP is a program that asks a partner (parent, grandparent, babysitter, older sibling, cousin, friend, etc.) to read with a child for at least 20 minutes daily, stressing the fact that reading can be fun and informative. The choice of reading materials can be anything with printed words. The daily activity of reading together strengthens reading and communication skills in the child and strengthens the relationship with the reader.

Because of COVID, Stonehedge had to get creative with PARP guest readers.  I have been reading in the Kindergarten rooms this week.  I plan to be a guest reader in all of our rooms by the end of the month.  Stay tuned... there might just be a few more guest readers coming our "virtual" way.

If you did not receive the PARP materials that the PTA sent home this week, please contact them at stonehedgepta@gmail.com.

Stonehedge is hosting a virtual book fair.  Please visit:

Around School

**All call for remote pics! I have enjoyed popping into several remote classes via zoom.  I sure do miss seeing all of my Stonehedge students who are remote.  I hope I can visit and read to all of our remote classrooms. If you have something going on remotely, please send me a pic asimmons@westgenesee.org or jdalton@westgenesee.org

Have a great long weekend!  See everyone back to school on Tuesday, October 13th.
