Halloween Happenings

A Spooky Good Time at our Parade
Luckily, the rain held off and our princesses, pirates, Minecraft characters, and costumed paraders enjoyed a brisk walk around the parking lot and through the school. Cheering friends and family lined the parade path as everyone enjoyed watching the marchers. Our Blue team faculty and staff dressed up as cowboys and girls in support of our PTA's month-long reading program, PARP. PARP had a western/cowboy theme.

Time to Trot!
With November's arrival comes Stonehedge's annual Turkey Trot. On Wednesday, November 4, students, teachers, and parents are invited to run or walk as we raise donations for the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF). During the run/walk students will receive one popsicle stick for each lap they complete in the front circles of the school. Each stick will be tallied from the event and we will see how many miles we complete as a school. (Rain date is November 5.)

Please see schedule below to see when your child will trot:

9:20 - 10:05 Fifth Grade
10:10-10:40 Kindergarten
10:45 - 11:30 Fourth Grade
11:35 - 12:05 First Grade
12:20 - 1:00 Third Grade
1:05 - 1:35 Second Grade

Second Graders are Going BATTY!
Yesterday was “Bat Day” in second grade. Students rotated through three stations with different teachers and learned about the differences between birds and bats, the two groups bats can be broken into (megabat and microbat), and how the bat wing is like the human hand.

Did you know? One bat can eat about 600 mosquitoes in one hour!

Please remember: There is a half-day for students on Tuesday, November 3. Dismissal is at 11:30 a.m.

~Have a safe and happy Halloween weekend. Lori
